Mexican Restaurants as Iconic as Texas

Iron Cactus Mexican restaurants in downtown Austin on historic 6th Street and on San Antonio's famous River Walk are as iconic as Texas. Our evolution began in 1996 when Gary Manley and Michael Pottorff restored a historic, turn of the century building on 6th Street in Austin, Texas, that became the original Iron Cactus. San Antonio followed right next to the Selena Bridge. Both restaurants offer amazing views, beautiful patios and historic locations.

Two Cities, Two amazing destinations

Our mission of creating a warm, friendly and unique environment was accomplished, and today our Mexican restaurants provide guests with the best Mexican food and fresh lime margaritas in Austin and San Antonio. Our menu is the culmination of years of dedication and passion by our team of renowned chefs. We are proud to be local and authentic to our communities.

Signature margaritas and tequila-influenced cocktails are the perfect companions to our culinary selections. Featuring over 100 tequilas, Iron Cactus has been named a Top 10 Tequila Bar in the U.S. by such national publications as Chili Pepper Magazine and Spirits and Cocktails. D Magazine rated our “El Agave” the best margarita in town.

Scenic rooftop patios, elegant dining or private party rooms and stylish bars combine to make your experience memorable. We hope you’ll join us soon at one of the Iron Cactus Mexican Restaurants, Grill & Margarita Bar.
