20 Reasons to Play the 20th Annual Iron Cactus Charity Golf Tournament on June 1st

We’re celebrating our 20th year hosting the Iron Cactus charity golf tournament. In the past 19 years, we’ve raised close to $500,000 for various charities and causes. With your generosity and participation, we will be able to surpass the half million dollar mark.

We hope that after reading the list below, you will sign up for this year’s charity tournament. However, if you can’t make the tournament, you can still help make a difference by donating at www.youcaring.com/ic4heroes. This year’s funds will support our wounded heroes to participate in Staurolite’s Foundation Mountain Top Safaris and Elk Hunt.

11 of the Funniest High School Senior Yearbook Quotes

In recent weeks, Iron Cactus in Stonelake and Hill Country Galleria have been speaking with a few parents who are active with their Project Graduation. So we decided to launch a program that will help local Austin high school Project Graduation groups raise much needed funds throughout the year. Therefore, we have declared ourselves as the Official Sponsor of Project Graduation for the graduating class of high schools in Austin. [Note: If you’re Project Graduation would like to be considered for a fundraising effort, please email projectgraduation@ironcactus.com . Open to Austin-area high schools only for now.]

From October 26 to October 30, we are donating 10% of food sales after 5 p.m. at Iron Cactus North Austin (10001 Stonelake Blvd.) to Westwood High School’s Project Graduation. Log in to Facebook and see details here.

Since we’re talking high school graduation, we thought it fitting to compile 11 of the funniest high school senior yearbook quotes we found on the interwebs. [Editor’s note: Hopefully, none of these are your kids.]

Austin, TX, September 17, 2012 — Iron Cactus Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar is hosting its annual Tequila Tour on September 20th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at its North Austin location at 10001 Stonelake Blvd. Tickets are priced at $25 (in advance)/$30 (at the door) and are available at any Austin-area Iron Cactus and online at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/4220714270. Five dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to the American Widow Project.

“The Iron Cactus Tequila Tour has become an annual tradition in Austin. It is a one-of-a kind event where guests can sample several types of tequilas from new and well-known tequila brands, enjoy delicious appetizers and listen to great music,” said Gary Manley, General Partner at Iron Cactus. “Our commitment to donating to the American Widow Project, a charitable organization that helps young military widows embrace life again, makes this event even more meaningful.”

Each ticket includes 10 quarter-ounce tequila samples, appetizers, Iron Cactus branded snifter and additional merchandise from Iron Cactus and its tequila partners. Live music will be performed by Bo Porter in the main dining room and the Flamenco Symphony in the patio.

“We are honored and humbled that Iron Cactus, an Austin staple, has made the commitment to support this generation’s military widows,” said Taryn Davis, Executive Director and Founder of the American Widow Project. “Each ticket purchased and person involved is making a direct donation to ensure the widows of our nation’s heroes receive the support they need and deserve.”

The Iron Cactus Tequila Tour brings together new and established tequila brands including  Herradura, Patron, Avion, Republic, Z Tejas and many others. There are more than 100 tequilas for guests to sample at this year’s Iron Cactus Tequila Tour.
